Ben Folami, a former Ipswich Town forward, has signed a four-year contract with Adelaide United after leaving A-League rivals Melbourne Victory.

The 25-year-old departed the Blues to join Victory and return to his native Australia in the summer of 2021, after first being on loan.

Folami has now made over 100 appearances for the Melbourne club, helping them win the 2021 Australia Cup and reach the A-League Grand Final last season.

He now joins Carl Veart’s side after being considered surplus to requirements by the new Victory Coach, former Town loanee Patrick Kisnorbo, despite having a year remaining on his contract.

Folami expressed his excitement about starting a new chapter in his career with Adelaide United after signing for the club.

“I have a lot to give, and I believe that this club is the perfect place for me to grow.

“The direction the club is taking is something I am keen to be a part of, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s success.”

The Australian scored once in seven games at Portman Road and will join former loanee Ryan Tunnicliffe at the Coopers Stadium.
