Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has stated that he fully supports Aro Muric after the goalkeeper was fired from the Kosovo camp last weekend.

Muric, an £8 million acquisition from Burnley this summer, played in a 3-0 home defeat to Romania before being sent home ahead of a trip to Cyprus for allegedly ‘breaching the regulations of the national football team’.

Reports reported that the 25-year-old had remained out too late in nightclubs, but he later stated that the decision was ‘not far’ and that ‘rumours are not true at all’.

“I’ve spoken with him, of course,” McKenna replied. “It isn’t really my area. I believe it is the responsibility of Ipswich Town to resolve this issue.

“But I spoke with Aro, and he gave me his account, which I believe differs slightly from some of the rumours.

“Look, I have no issues with his version. He is our player, and we support him. To be honest, it was fantastic to have him back in training a few days sooner.

“We’re looking to keep working on his integration into the team and I’m sure he’s going to be an important player for us.”

Meanwhile, the Blues manager provided optimistic injury updates for Wes Burns, George Hirst, and Omari Hutchinson ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match at Brighton.
