Following an unblemished start to the Premier League season, Nottingham Forest can take plenty of positives into the international break.

The Reds finished with a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the City Ground on Saturday. And that made it five points from their first three league games, after drawing with Bournemouth and beating Southampton.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will be looking to get back on track when the action resumes after a two-week vacation. They go to face Liverpool on September 14.

The only bad aspect of Forest’s campaign thus far has been a major injury in their opening game. We’ll take a look at the current situation on that front.

Danilo

Injury: Broken ankle.

Danilo injured his ankle only eight minutes into the new Premier League season as he landed awkwardly after pushing for the ball in a 1-1 tie with Bournemouth. He had surgery last Tuesday (August 27), and it is believed he will be able to return to training by December.

The fact that he had a clean break should help him heal. However, whenever the midfielder rejoins his colleagues, he will still need time to regain his fitness.

What has been said: “The surgery went well. Now we have to be patient,” Nuno said prior to the clash with Wolves.

“First of all, the important thing is that he takes his time; that he does not make any mistakes. For now, he is not allowed to put his foot on the ground (or put weight through it). It is a small detail, but it is a big detail.

“We do not want to rush him, we do not want to put him under any pressure to come back. He has to settle down.”
