Birmingham City’s move for Tottenham youngster Alfie Devine fell through on transfer deadline day, according to Football Insider sources.

The Blues were in talks to bring the 20-year-old to St Andrews on loan for the 2024-25 season.

However, the deal has since fallen through, alerting other interested clubs to his availability on the final day of the transfer season.

Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq has been linked with a move for the teenager.

The attacking midfielder spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Plymouth and Port Vale, where his progress continued.

Devine, who has yet to appear in a matchday squad this season, has made two senior outings for Tottenham but has unable to break into the first team.

Last season, he scored three goals and assisted five times in 41 appearances for Championship side Plymouth and League One club Port Vale.

Spurs signed the 20-year-old from Wigan in 2020, and he is now under contract until June 2027.

Devine is generally an offensive midfielder, but he can also play as a second striker or center midfielder.

Birmingham is fifth in League One with seven points after three games, while Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League after two games.

So far, the Blues have made 15 acquisitions during the summer transfer window.
