The Atlanta Braves appear to have been fortunate in terms of outfielder Michael Harris II’s injury.

Michael Harris II, the Atlanta Braves’ center fielder, is out of the lineup on Monday night as the Braves begin their road series against the Minnesota Twins. However, there was an optimistic update on his future situation.

According to Justin Toscano, Braves beat writer for the AJC, Harris’ wrist feels better. Assuming his hand feels better, he expects to be able to play again in a few days.

Jarred Kelenic will take his place in center field, having played there when Harris was on the injured list. Jorge Soler will continue to bat second, with Whit Merrifield leading off. The decision checks. Merrifield spent years as the Royals’ leadoff bat, appearing in 737 games.

Fortunately for the Braves, they won’t be without Harris for long and can make temporary changes to the lineup.

It’s very good news after missing two months in the middle of the season. So, a larger crisis was avoided. Harris will return in a few days, and Marcell Ozuna will not miss any time at all.

Harris has batted in 78 games so far this season.247 with.656, seven home runs, and 28 RBI. He has not been as productive at the top of the lineup as he was in his first two seasons in the league. But he’s had his moments since returning from the Injured List and possesses a solid outfield glove.

It’s reassuring to watch players recover from a fright. This club has suffered numerous injuries, particularly from being hit by pitches.

Austin Riley, third baseman, suffered a right hand fracture just a week ago, and his regular season is essentially done. As the dog days of summer come to an end, the Braves will need depth in the outfield, including the possibility of reuniting with Jason Heyward.

But for now, just inhale and exhale. Crisis avoided. The Braves return to action on Monday night against the Twins. The first pitch is planned for 7:40 p.m. EST.
