Birmingham City will send some of their top young talents out on loan before the transfer deadline.

Tommy Fogarty, a Birmingham City rookie, will spend the season on loan at Dunfermline Athletic of the Scottish Championship. The 20-year-old, who was a member of the first-team squad throughout preseason, will remain with the Pars for the whole 2024/25 season.

Fogarty has progressed through the Blues system over the last decade and was called up to the senior squad by John Eustace last summer. He also played consistently under Chris Davies this summer, but has yet to appear in any of the first team’s four games this season.

He inked a new contract that will keep him with the Blues until at least 2026 midway through last season. He was recently called up to represent Northern Ireland’s Under-21s in European U21 Championship qualifiers against England and Ukraine during the upcoming international break.

He spent the season on loan at Ebbsfleet United, where he made eight appearances in the National League.

James McPake’s club has had a difficult start to the season, losing their first three league games, in addition to three in the Scottish League Cup, after losing 10 players at the end of last season.

Manny Longelo and Junior Dixon are also out on loan for the Blues, and both had successful appearances against Cambridge United and Boreham Wood on Saturday.
