The Rams head coach is eager to add to his team before the window closes at the end of the month.

Paul Warne claims there is “nothing” close to a transfer as he attempts to strengthen his Derby County squad.

Derby’s head coach wants three more loan signings before the window closes at the end of the month, including a striker, a midfielder, and a defender.

Jacob Widell Zetterstrom became the Rams’ most recent signing, signing a three-year contract after arriving from Djurgarden on Friday.

But Warne is now ready to expand his options with three additional arrivals, as Derby may carry five loans in the matchday squad.

Jerry Yates and David Ozoh are on loan from Swansea and Crystal Palace, respectively, so he has room for both.

When asked if he was any closer to bringing somebody in after Saturday’s triumph against Middlesbrough, Warne replied, “Nothing at the moment. Just as usual, we’ll keep him in the building for a while.

“We are only down to loans, so you are at the mercy of the parent club.” I appear to be at the mercy of everyone.
