If there is one big fish in the 2025 recruiting class, it is offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

Over the previous few years, Fasusi has been the center of attention, just as David Stone was for the 2024 cycle.

He’s a top target for OU and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh. As Fasusi’s commitment date of August 21 approaches, things appear to be looking well for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Late Wednesday night, Brandon Drumm of OU Insider and Rivals released a Future cast expecting Fasusi will join the Oklahoma Sooners. It is the first prediction from a major recruitment website since April.

Back in March and April, it appeared like the Texas Longhorns had a significant lead in Fasusi’s recruiting, with analysts from Rivals and 247Sports predicting Oklahoma’s Red River Rivals. But, with his commitment date less than a week away, the start of the high school football season, and only a few months until the early signing period, the Sooners have gained some late momentum.

Fasusi is one of the most talented players in the 2025 recruiting class. According to ESPN, he is one of the 32 best players in the class, with a ranking as high as ninth. According to 247Sports, Fasusi is the No. 27 player in the cycle and the No. 5 offensive lineman. Rivals has the Lewisville product as the No. 11 player in 2025 and the No. 2 offensive tackle.

Bedenbaugh and the Sooners will need to keep an eye on this recruitment. He’s a dynamic player who might challenge for a starting position early in his collegiate career. Fasusi, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 295 pounds, has a solid physical profile and the potential to excel at the next level.
