The player was cleared to return to Kansas City following Saturday’s game against the Jaguars.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was released from the hospital on Sunday morning after suffering a serious shoulder injury in the team’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
‘Hollywood’ Brown’s injury common in high-impact collisions
The injury occurred on the first offensive play of the game, when Brown was tackled awkwardly, resulting in his early exit and hospitalization.
Brown had a sternoclavicular joint sprain, which is a common injury caused by high-impact accidents.
If this is the play where Hollywood Brown got injured, looks like a potential Left AC sprain as he lands on that side.
Hopefully it’s just that and minor.

According to insiders, the injury is comparable to that experienced by former Chiefs wide out Tyreek Hill in 2019.
Hill’s injury required a reduction operation but did not involve surgery, as does Brown’s.
Following an evaluation at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Brown was cleared to return to Kansas City.
The rapid discharge indicates that the injury was successfully treated without the need for surgery.
While this is encouraging news, Brown’s recuperation schedule is unknown, and his availability for the Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5 is now in doubt.

Chiefs don’t expect Brown to play until regular season
Following the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid issued a quick update on Brown’s status, saying, “I believe he will miss some time. We’ll just see where it is… they’re going over it right now, and we’ll learn more later.”
Brown’s injury is a major setback for the Chiefs, who signed the veteran receiver to a one-year contract worth $7 million this offseason.
Coming off a season with the Arizona Cardinals in which he had a career-low 574 receiving yards and four touchdowns, Brown was expected to play an important role in the Kansas City offense.
In Brown’s absence, the Chiefs will likely rely on other receivers to step up.
Rookies Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney are likely to see more action, and Rashee Rice may possibly play a larger part depending on roster changes.
