Detroit Lions cornerback Emmanuel Moseley’s horrible luck with injuries continues.

Moseley, who tore his ACL in consecutive seasons and played only one game last year, sustained a torn pec while practicing and is out indefinitely.

“It’s tough,” admitted Lions coach Dan Campbell. “That’s tough. He is the one who has worked so hard to recover from two ACL surgeries. It’s frustrating, but he understands. Look, you have two options: rally one more time, or say, you know what, enough is enough. My inner instinct tells me he’ll rally again.

“Nothing suggests that he will not be ready by the end of the year. I mean, we’re still trying to sort everything out. Everything happens for a reason. You don’t always notice it in the moment. But this may be one of those to get his legs to where he needs them to be by the end of the year, and that was part of the plan. I do not know.

“We will work through that. We all adore Eman and admire the kind of teammate he is. “He’ll recover from this.”

Moseley joined with the Lions last year as part of a new secondary that included cornerback Cam Sutton, but neither player made the desired impact, with Sutton being released this offseason due to legal difficulties. Moseley returned to the Lions on another short-term deal this offseason, and he told the Free Press last week that he was finally feeling healthy and excited to be back on the field.
