The world was watching as Simone Biles competed in what could be her final Olympics this summer.

Biles’ world, however, was sitting several rows up in the fans at Bercy Arena, clutching a piece of paper and a pencil and furiously taking down notes.

Biles and her husband, NFL star Jonathan Owens, have undoubtedly stolen the show as the most adorable pair in the Paris Games over the previous month. In a recent interview with NBC’s Mike Tirico, the 11-time Olympic champion discussed Owens’ steadfast support.

“It means the world to me,” Biles remarked. “I feel like we’re very supportive of one other. So, for the Bears to allow him to come to Paris to support me, I couldn’t have asked for anything more, especially on such a large platform and in such an important time of my life. I was thrilled to have him here.”

The Chicago Bears granted Owens special permission during the NFL summer to leave training camp and travel to Paris to witness Biles compete on the international stage.

It was the first time Owens saw his wife compete in the Olympics, as he was unable to travel to the Tokyo Games in 2021 due to COVID-19 limitations.

“I feel like we’re both each other’s emotional support people,” Biles explained. “For him to watch me do what I love and be in a good mental space, I know that meant the world to both of us.”

Tirico also startled Biles with a surprising question on the future–the Bears’ future, specifically. Does Chicago have a shot against the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers in the NFC North this season? “I’m not very good at football, so whatever team my husband is on, they’ll do well,” Biles remarked with a big smile.
