BYU football started fall camp on Wednesday.

Every new season comes about adjustments. Part of the transition includes new uniform numbers for both new and established players who have already spent seasons in the program.

Returning BYU football players from spring with new numbers

Since spring football ended in March, five returning players have changed their jersey numbers.

  • Parker Kingston, WR – No. 11 (Previously No. 82)
  • Evan Johnson, CB – No. 21 (Previously No. 36)
  • John Taumoepeau, DT – No. 55 (Previously No. 95)
  • Jackson Bowers, TE – No. 86 (Previously No. 19)
  • Mata’ava Ta’ase, TE – No. 88 (Previously No. 99)

The folks at College Football 25 will need to perform some editing with these number modifications.

Parker Kingston is the most notable of the returning players who have had their numbers changed. Last season, Kingston had 19 receptions for 207 yards. The former high school quarterback also completed two passes on “Special” play calls, resulting in touchdown passes.

Evan Johnson is entering his third year at BYU and was praised by head coach Kalani Sitake during Big 12 Media Day for his progress this offseason.

Jackson Bowers, a redshirt freshman, appears to have a stronger influence on the field this fall. Bowers’ participation in spring workouts was limited earlier this year due to an injury.
