Football Insider has learned that Ipswich Town are interested in signing Burnley winger Wilson Odobert.

Despite Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League, the 19-year-old was one of the club’s bright spots last season.

Ipswich are looking for attacking reinforcements after missing out on Jaden Philogene, who has rejoined Aston Villa, and are now interested in signing France Under-23 international Odobert.

So far this summer, the Premier League new boys have had an extremely active transfer window, with the arrivals of Omari Hutchinson, Jacob Greaves, and Liam Delap.

Kieran McKenna and his staff want to construct a side capable of avoiding relegation, and they feel Odobert can play a key role.

Ipswich want Wilson Odobert to help avoid relegation

Odobert made 33 appearances for Burnley in his first season after joining from French side Troyes, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

The 19-year-old is a flexible winger who can play on either the right or left side, but he loves to play on the left side so he can cut in and challenge defenders.

Ipswich are looking for a new winger after losing out on Philogene, and Odobert has Premier League experience despite his youth.

Burnley would prefer to keep Odobert, but if he insists on returning to the Premier League, the club may be forced to sell him unwillingly.
