Jamarrion Gordon, who has been pledged to Alabama since May, switches his commitment to UCF.
Alabama’s summer has been mainly successful in terms of recruiting, but the Crimson Tide received some bad news Friday. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, four-star cornerback Jamarrion Gordon has switched his commitment from Alabama to UCF.
According to On3, Gordon is the 19th-ranked cornerback and 254th-ranked recruit in the 2026 class. The Jackson, Alabama prospect ended his sophomore season with 30 tackles, seven pass breakups, and one interception.
Gordon committed to Alabama on May 18, beating out offers from 20 other institutions, including Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and more. However, as is customary this early in advance of his enrollment, Gordon left his choices open and decided UCF was a better fit.

Gordon told 247Sports at the time of his pledge that he chose Alabama “because of the connection I have with the coaches and their connection with my family.” Apparently, that connection wasn’t strong enough to keep him in Tuscaloosa, and Gordon told X that he’s “doing what’s best for [his] process/recruitment.”
Alabama’s only 2026 commit is now four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, but the Crimson Tide have the second-best class in the country for 2025, according to 247Sports.
