Everton have completed the signing of Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom.
The Dane joins Everton on a season-long loan with the option to buy.
Lindstrøm told evertontv, “I feel very good.” It’s fantastic to represent Everton. This is a large club with a rich history, a good stadium, and, from what I’ve seen, excellent facilities. I’m quite thrilled to be here, and I think this is a fantastic fit.
“I heard of Everton’s interest a long ago, not only today, but prior. England is pretty comparable to Denmark, therefore I’ll feel right at home immediately. The people have been really friendly and humble. I am definitely looking forward to getting started.
“I’ve spoken with the management. He seems to appreciate the way I play football and thinks I’d be a good match for the club because of my pace, so I want to deliver. I know he trusts me, which is another reason I’m here: I need trust from the coach and from my teammates. I’m eager to show them how I can help.
“I am 100 percent prepared. I’m really hungry. This preseason feels long because all I want to do is play football and be out in the stadium. Last year was difficult for me, but I’m glad to be here now and can’t wait to get started.
“I’m a fast player with strong technique and a good shot, so I believe I can contribute speed to the counter-attacks and play in a variety of positions, including number 10 and winger. I will do my best. I enjoy scoring goals, providing assists, and creating opportunities. I hope I can accomplish it here, and I am confident I can. I know how the squad plays, and I have some excellent teammates. “I am prepared to give everything.”
He went on to say, “I believe that all of my previous experiences have prepared me for this moment.” I’ve played in a few different leagues, including international football, the Champions League, and the Europa League. I feel like I’m prepared. I believe I can help the squad, and that is what I want to do. I want to let the fans know I’m here.
“This is the season for me to get back on track. I believe this is a great fit for me, and I’m ready to demonstrate why I should stay here.
“It will be fantastic for the club to be in the new stadium, but Goodison Park has a special history, particularly for the fans who have been here for so long. I believe the new stadium will let us to play at the highest level and will be larger to accommodate more spectators – it looks fantastic – but I’m thrilled to be starting at Goodison because I want to experience the history, what it means to the supporters, and enjoy that environment. I’m thrilled to be able to play here, and I hope to play in the new stadium next year as well.”
