The Tennessee Volunteers appear to be the early favorites to sign 2026 four-star wide receiver Travis Johnson.

Johnson, a 6-foot-3/165-pound wide receiver from Chesapeake, VA, is ranked No. 15 in the nation and No. 6 in Virginia by 247Sports. He is also ranked as the No. 122 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Johnson is presently considering six schools: Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina, and Tennessee. According to his recent statements to On3, the Vols could be toward the top of the list.

The skilled wide receiver told On3 that he has a strong relationship with Vols wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope, noting that he speaks with Pope several times per day.

Johnson also told On3 that his bond with Pope is likely “the strongest” he had with any position coach thus far.

Johnson’s recruitment is certainly still in its early stages, but the Vols appear to be in a strong position to land the four-star wide receiver.

Tennessee does not presently have any players committed to the 2026 recruiting class.
