Nebraska football makes a late push for top offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., with many anticipating a strong chance of getting the talent if he visits campus again.

Is this actually happening? Is the Nebraska football team the front-runner for the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect? Could they be close to signing David Sanders Jr.?

Not long ago, the answer to those queries would have been “of course not,” but that may have changed. At least one recruiting observer believes the momentum is shifting in Nebraska’s favor. The level of coup that Matt Rhule could carry off is difficult to describe.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong provides an update on the Providence Day tackle, which should delight Nebraska football fans. “I think people are viewing Nebraska as a real contender here with a few weeks to go,” he stated in an email.

Nebraska football a shockingly legitimate contender for OT target with ‘few weeks to go’

Wiltfong’s statements came despite the fact that his own website’s RPM still does not feature the Cornhuskers. They believe that Tennessee is the team to beat. Ohio State, Georgia, and Clemson come next.

But NU is present. Even if analysts are still slow to acknowledge this.

David Sanders Jr. may even return to Lincoln before making a decision. His mother has stated that they would like to accept more than one, if possible. NU is now the only one that has not received several trips. They could be at the top of the list for this reason.

“If Nebraska can get him to campus this weekend, I think that they’re having good dialogue, good conversations with the family behind the scenes,” according to Wiltfong.

That makes it fairly clear whether the Huskers are indeed leading. If they can find a way to bring the offensive tackle to town, things may be looking very good. This is an important race for Nebraska football.
