Ipswich Town are apparently preparing to give Sunderland £18 million this summer.

Ipswich Town are preparing to make a £18 million bid for one of Sunderland’s key players.

Jack Clarke has been attracting transfer attention for some time, with Lazio and Southampton reportedly interested in the former Leeds United and Tottenham winger.

However, Ipswich Town are the latest club to be connected with a trade, with national media stating that the newly promoted Premier League side is preparing a stunning £18 million bid for the winger.

The i also report that Tottenham included a 40% sell-on option when Clarke moved to the Stadium of Light, which means Spurs may profit handsomely from any possible sale of Clarke by Sunderland.

Clarke contributed 15 goals and four assists in the Championship this season and is valued at roughly £20 million. Clarke’s current contract with Sunderland is slated to expire in two years, making it unlikely that he will sign a new deal.
