The Nebraska football team has grabbed the top-ranked prospect from North Dakota for the 2025 recruiting cycle, beating out many other colleges.

West Fargo (North Dakota) Sheyenne defensive lineman Kade Pietrzak committed to Nebraska on Sunday, choosing the Huskers over Kansas State, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.

Pietrzak, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect, received a scholarship offer from Nebraska last September and has long been regarded as one of the Huskers’ top 2025 defensive line targets. He attended a junior day event in January and returned to campus in June for a formal visit before making a summer choice.

Along with official visits to his other top schools, Pietrzak seriously considered Oklahoma, but defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and defensive coordinator Tony White helped Nebraska secure a recruiting victory instead.

Pietrzak has the potential to play on the defensive line’s interior or edge in the future, and his junior film shows he already possesses a solid pass rushing move and good balance.

Pietrzak’s pledge strengthens Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class as the program’s third defensive line acquisition and 17th overall member. Nebraska has long had a commitment from Omaha North’s Tyson Terry and added Hitchcock (Texas) lineman Malcolm Simpson last month, but missed out on numerous other defensive line targets this summer.

Nebraska has now signed the top 2025 recruit from three states within a 500-mile radius: Colorado (Tanner Terch), South Dakota (Shawn Hammerbeck), and North Dakota (Pietrzak).
