Kieffer Moore, a former Ipswich Town attacker, has joined Sheffield United for an unknown price from AFC Bournemouth.

The 31-year-old played the second half of last season on loan at Portman Road, scoring seven goals in 18 appearances to help the Blues earn promotion to the Premier League.

Moore leaves the Cherries after 10 goals in 46 appearances since joining from Cardiff City for an estimated £3.5 million in January 2022.

He was poised to join fellow Championship club Hull City last week, but a late change of heart has resulted in him signing a three-year contract at Bramall Lane.

The Welsh international joins Chris Wilder’s side, which was recently relegated from the top division after placing last.

When he signed with the Blades, he said, “Everything fits perfectly into what I want from a club, and their ambition matches mine.” When the opportunity to join a terrific club like this arises, you should never pass it up.

“I’m extremely familiar with the area, and it’s always pleasant to return to places where you’ve had success; this will help me settle in as well. I have wonderful recollections of Rotherham and Barnsley, so returning to the area is something I look forward to.

“I’ll buy into everything the gaffer says; we’ve already had some nice chats, and while these decisions require some thought, I made my decision after speaking with the manager.

He added: “I’ve always wanted to be somewhere where I can play regularly, so not doing so at Bournemouth was difficult. Last season, I wanted to go and make an impact by playing some football, and thankfully, I had a fantastic time with Ipswich.” I want to bring that knowledge and know-how to the company and build on what is currently there.”
