Hull City defender Jacob Greaves will have a medical at Ipswich Town on Sunday before completing his transfer to the Premier League team, according to The Athletic.

After gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League, Kieran McKenna has planned an assault on the Championship to sign individuals he believes will assist strengthen his current side.

Greaves and Jaden Philogene are two Hull City players who have been sought, although while the former is expected to move to Portman Road, the latter might end up at Aston Villa.

Ipswich had arranged medicals for the two on Sunday, but for the time being, only Greaves will be present to finish the process.

He will then sign a five-year contract, keeping him with the club until the summer of 2029.

Hull City will receive approximately £15 million from the sale of their 23-year-old academy graduate.

McKenna followed Greaves closely in the Championship last season, when he helped the Tigers almost make the playoffs.

He made 43 appearances and missed only three games all season.

McKenna saw enough to feel Greaves can manage the transition to the Premier League.
