Birmingham City are still waiting for a decision on the future of one of their top transfer targets, according to writer Alan Nixon.

Blues are adamant that their stay in League One will be brief, and the club’s owners have provided the team with a significant budget for the third division.

As the summer transfer market opens, the team hopes to sign a lot of new players.

They have been pursuing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Marc Leonard for several weeks and are up against stiff competition to get him.

And the Blues are still unsure whether they will be able to sign Leonard because no decision has been made on the midfielder’s transfer.

He impressed in League One during a loan spell at Northampton Town last season, and his efforts were not overlooked.

If Birmingham can land Leonard, it will be a huge coup.

He is also attracting interest from Championship clubs, as well as MLS teams.
