A former Rangers star has accepted an offer.

Birmingham City has allegedly accepted a proposal from Turkish Süper Lig club Sivasspor for midfielder Juninho Bacuna.

The Curaçao international, who scored seven goals and assisted six times in 45 Championship games last season, was firmly in Chris Davies’ plans for the coming season, but foreign interest proved too tempting.

Bacuna has only 12 months left on his Blues contract, and Sivasspor has taken advantage by making an offer that is too good to turn no. According to BBC Radio WM, Bacuna will not accompany Birmingham on their pre-season trip to Austria after a bid was approved.

Sivasspor is on the verge of beating out Gaziantep and Sassuolo for Bacuna’s signature, while personal details have still to be agreed upon. If Alex Pritchard approves the transfer, the former Rangers and Huddersfield Town player may reconnect with him.

Bacuna’s departure from Birmingham would be a significant loss, since he provides exceptional energy and adaptability. The 26-year-old, who can play in any midfield position or as a right-back, would have been a valuable asset in the forthcoming League One season.

If all goes as planned, Bacuna will leave the Blues with 111 appearances, 13 goals, and 15 assists.
