There is still a chance that the Boston Bruins will have a new goalkeeper postgame celebration in 2024-25.

Jeremy Swayman’s goaltender counterpart, Linus Ullmark, was traded to the Ottawa Senators in June. The Bruins added goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, who will most likely serve as Boston’s backup next season.

During Ullmark and Swayman’s time together in Boston, they invented the well-known goalkeeper hug, which became a tradition after Bruins victories. While Ullmark has denied that he or Swayman will recreate the hug with their respective teams, the latter has not ruled out the possibility of a new tradition.

“I know we don’t have the hug anymore but there’s still going to be something going on after Bruins games, I can only imagine,” Swayman commented on a Cameo clip. “Hopefully (Korpisalo) and I are going to find something cool, and we’ll keep that tradition going, no doubt.”

The 25-year-old netminder and the Bruins have yet to agree on a deal for the upcoming season. Both the organization and Swayman chose not to pursue arbitration, which means he is open to receiving offers from other teams.

If the goaltender and the Bruins reach a deal, Boston fans should keep an eye out for a new postgame ritual between Swayman and Korpisalo.
