Evangelos Marinakis, the Reds’ owner, is a very ambitious individual who will not be satisfied with simply making up the number.

He intends for the football club to become a team that competes in the top half of the Premier League and hopes to qualify for Europe.

Players will be recruited to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad in due course, but it appears that things are also happening off the pitch.

According to today’s rumors, Forest is likely trying to increase their worker numbers, which can only be a good thing.

Nottingham Forest set to appoint Miran Pavlin

It appears that changes are afoot in the boardroom, with a new technical director poised to be appointed.

Pavlin is a Slovenian who represented his country during his playing career, including the World Cup in 2002.

Speaking with Delo, he said: “I received an offer from Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, Olympiacos, and Rio Ave.

“At 52, I wasn’t thinking much. The Premier League is the best league in the world, and I had the opportunity to work for a conglomerate of three clubs. “This is a massive challenge for me.”

Pavlin is scheduled to begin work a week from tomorrow and will be in place as Forest attempt to add a few more players before the season begins.

Pavlin appointment asks question about Ross Wilson

Pavlin’s new function appears to be very similar to Ross Wilson’s current one on Trentside.

It will be interesting to see how this one progresses if Pavlin takes up his function and whether Wilson stays on.

Pavlin appears to be combining employment at all three Marinakis-owned clubs, which may reduce his importance to Forest.

Still, it’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out, as well as what Pavlin has planned for Forest.
