The Indianapolis Colts have not won the AFC South since 2014, but they came within one agonizing drive of missing the playoffs in last season’s home loss to Houston.

Now, the team hopes to build on last year’s nine wins, which represented a five-game increase over 2022.

To do this, the club needs great play from inexperienced quarterback Anthony Richardson as well as a strong defensive effort.

Defensive end Kwity Paye believes the second part of the equation is certain, and the Indianapolis defense will be dominant.

Paye told the Draft Network’s Justin Melo that his career has seen a production increase and that the best is yet to come.

He recalled recording 4.0 sacks as a Colts rookie, 6.0 in his second season, and an astonishing 8.5 in 2023.

Paye stated that he is “shooting for 12-15 sacks” and hopes to be a part of Indianapolis’ dominant defense in 2024.

The fourth-year former first-round pick stated that his objective is “to be the best defensive line in the NFL.”

Indeed, the defensive line is loaded with talent, thanks to tackle DeForest Buckner’s two-year agreement and the return of lineman Grover Stewart from suspension.

The Colts also signed Raekwon Davis, a lineman who spent the previous four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Not pleased with that, general manager Chris Ballard signed UCLA’s Laiatu Latu to improve the pass rush at No. 15.

The squad already had four defenders with at least eight sacks in 2023, so it’s not surprise that the enhancements will result in much more pressure this season.
