Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly rekindling their interest in Birmingham City teenager Rico Browne after he turned down a contract offer from Blues.
According to Football Insider, the North London club has long admired the 20-year-old defender following his apparent rejection of further terms at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
Birmingham are preparing for their first season in League One since 1995, led by Ange Postecoglou’s former Spurs assistant, the recently promoted Chris Davies.
Given the ambitions of American ownership group Knighthead, led by tycoon Tom Wagner and former NFL icon Tom Brady, a summer of transition in this region of the West Midlands was inevitable.
However, it appears that one of Blues’ Wast Hills academy graduates no longer sees himself as a part of the club’s aspirations to regain momentum despite well-documented ambitions following relegation from the Championship.
