Amid a slew of 2025 commits, the West Virginia University football team acquired its second commitment from a 2026 prospect on Monday afternoon.

Quarterback Brodie McWhorter, a rising junior in high school, announced his plan to attend the Mountaineers on social media Monday. McWhorter, a right-handed gunslinger from Cartersville, Georgia, stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 195 pounds. He attends Cass High School and plays prep basketball there.

He is a four-star prospect according to Rivals and the 247Sports Composite, and he selected West Virginia over Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Oregon, and other schools. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 23 quarterback in the nation’s 2026 class and the No. 33 rising junior in Georgia.

He joins linebacker Daiveon Taylor on WVU’s list of projected 2026 recruits.
