The Sooners softball alumna played a key role in the team’s back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024.

Supporters of Alynah Torres will not have to travel far to see her continue her softball career.

The former Oklahoma Sooners utility player, who started 47 games this spring and won two national championships with the Sooners, has signed a contract with the Oklahoma City Spark for the 2024 season, the team announced on Monday via Twitter.

The Spark’s home opener against Great Britain at Devon Park, where Torres won 23 games in 24 tries during her undergraduate career, is set for Thursday at 7 p.m.

Torres batted.331 with a.993 fielding percentage as the Sooners won their fourth national championship in a straight, totaling 42 hits and 46 RBIs.

Torres started 43 games in 2023, fielding 1.000 and batting.350 after transferring from Arizona State, where she played from 2020 to 2022. The Glendale, Arizona native had an outstanding scholastic career at Cactus High School. She was named an All-Arizona player four times.

Rylie Boone, Jayda Coleman, and Kinzie Hansen, all former Sooner teammates, made their Spark debuts last week at the Coca-Cola Scenic City Pro Cup in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
