Breaking: Another Braves star enters IL
|The Braves have been plagued by injuries all season, and the latest to be sidelined is left-handed pitcher Ray Kerr, who has a UCL strain.
The #Braves have placed LHP Ray Kerr on the 15-day injured list with a left elbow UCL injury, effective June 16, and voided his option to Triple-A Gwinnett on June 15.

Ray Kerr, a versatile arm with huge stuff, has appeared in ten games this season and has a 5.64 ERA in 22.1 innings. The Braves have employed him as both a starter and a reliever, and while the results have been mixed, it’s critical to have players like him in the club who can step up when needed.
UCL injuries are never ideal for pitchers, and they frequently result in Tommy John surgery. I’m sure we’ll find out shortly whether that’s the case, and if it is, Ray Kerr will miss the rest of the season and all of next year, which is catastrophic for a 29-year-old attempting to establish himself as a major-league pitcher.
