Birmingham City on agreement with former Everton star man
|Birmingham City are allegedly close to negotiating contract terms with a popular forward who formerly played for Everton and Middlesbrough.
Lukas Jutkiewicz is, of course, the man, a Blues club legend who fans hope will remain at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park next season.
The 35-year-old’s contract expires on June 30, and he will be free to join another club if no new deal is reached. Fortunately for the Bluenoses, Jutkiewicz is reportedly close to signing on for another year to help his favorite side return to the Championship.
Birmingham Live reports. Since Chris Davies was chosen the new manager, conversations with Jutkiewicz have begun. According to reports, the club and player are “close to agreeing terms” on a deal that would keep ‘the Juke’ until at least June 2025.
Jutkiewicz hoping for a better season
Jutkiewicz, who joined Birmingham from Burnley in 2016, has scored 66 goals and created 27 assists in 330 games. He is frequently used as a target man owing to his aerial abilities and exceptional hold-up play. What began as a loan has evolved into a hugely successful £1 million trade.
