The Braves have a weakened lineup, due to injuries amidst a wild team-wide slump.

The Braves have a rather rough lineup by their standards, with Chadwick Tromp back in action after d’Arnaud was sidelined for a few days and Zack Short filling in for Austin Riley, who has side stiffness. Check out our most recent injury updates on these two Braves lineup stalwarts here. Jarred Kelenic will bat eighth against the right-handed Yu Darvish, with Tromp in ninth. With Elder on the mound, the Braves could use some run support, which does not inspire confidence. As our friend Brad Rowland points out, the Braves are still in a major rut, which is in large part due to bad luck.

The Padres’ lineup includes Arraez at first, Tatis second, Machado fifth, and Bogaerts sixth. The Padres offense has struggled this season, with Machado and Bogaerts particularly laboring at the plate.

On paper, this game seems like a coin toss, with San Diego having the pitching advantage and both teams’ offensive stars underperforming.

The game is broadcast on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball at 7:10 p.m. ET from Truist Park.
