|Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand is a game-time decision as his team tries to send the series to Game 7.

Montgomery gave an update on Marchand’s status, saying, “He looked fine. But he has boxes to check. On a daily basis, having one extra day benefits our athletes with minor injuries. “We’ll know more tomorrow.” This cautious optimism means Marchand could return to the lineup, which would be a huge boost given that he is currently tied with Jake DeBrusk for the team lead in playoff scoring with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 10 games.
Media caught up with Marchand’s mother on Friday and she too didn’t know if her son would be playing Friday night.
Marchand Stirs Up Injury Conversation With Controversial Comments
Bennett’s injuries occurred when he collided with Marchand and punched him in the face. The NHL ruled it a hockey play, and Bennett received no extra sanction, which Marchand feels helped him to avoid punishment. Reflecting on the event and the nature of playoff hockey, Marchand stated, “People don’t want to admit it, but part of the playoffs is trying to harm every player on the opposing team. Taking out more players gives your squad a significant edge. “Every time you step on the ice, someone is attempting to hurt you.”
Marchand did not appear to harbor ill will, despite the fact that he had been on the receiving end of the circumstance. Still, he believes the NHL missed the play, and that if video evidence had been released sooner after the hit, they could have made a different decision.
As the Bruins prepare for Game 6 at home, the return of their captain could be critical. Marchand’s presence and scoring ability would provide a big edge as Boston attempts to square the series and force a Game 7. The club and supporters alike are hoping that he can fulfill the essential requirements to play tonight.
