Ipswich Town are interested in Millwall attacker Zian Flemming ahead of the forthcoming transfer season, according to London News Online

Ipswich Town are interested in signing the Dutchman this summer as they seek to strengthen their squad following their promotion to the Premier League. The Tractor Boys have a busy few months ahead of them as they prepare for life in the top flight after coming second to Leicester City this season.

Flemming, 25, joined Millwall in 2022 and has since been a crucial player. His contract at The Den finishes in June 2025, although they have the option to prolong his stay in London for an additional 12 months.

According to London News Online, Kieran McKenna’s side has identified him as a prospective target. Alaves of Spain has also been rumored as a potential suitor, while the San Jose Earthquakes of the Major League Soccer were also linked this winter, but nothing came of it.

Ipswich Town eye Millwall man

Ipswich Town may consider Flemming as someone who can offer competition and depth to their top-flight offensive department.

They must ensure that their ranks have enough talent to compete at the highest levels. Sheffield United, Burnley, and Luton Town were all relegated this season, demonstrating how significant the step up is.

Flemming scored eight goals for Millwall this season, helping the club secure second-tier status under Neil Harris’ management.

He wasn’t able to replicate his 15 goals from his first year in England, but he did contribute some significant goals to help his team survive.

If Ipswich Town or another club makes an approach for his services, the Lions will face a difficult decision over his future.

Selling him would free up room and finances in Harris’ team, allowing them to bring in other reinforcements and freshen up their roster. However, they must consider whether it is a huge risk to allow such an essential individual walk out the exit door.

His career to date

Prior to joining Millwall little over two years ago, he played two seasons for Fortuna Sittard, scoring 27 goals in 63 games.

The Amsterdam native has previously played for Ajax, PEC Zwolle, and NEC Nijmegen in his home country.
