5-star WR formally joins with Alabama

The Ryan Williams high school recruiting saga has now ended.

The state’s only two-time Mr. Football signed with Alabama on Wednesday, after a highly publicized recruiting process that saw him commit to the Crimson Tide as a sophomore, decommit after Nick Saban’s retirement, and recommit under new coach Kalen DeBoer.

Despite intense competition from in-state rival Auburn, SEC newcomer Texas, and a slew of other institutions, he ultimately chose Alabama. Though he had intended to commit and sign on Friday, his 17th birthday, Williams instead signed alongside eight of his Saraland teammates at the high school Wednesday morning.
