5 Realistic Free Agents the Lions Could Sign in 2024

The Detroit Lions may or may not make a significant splash in free agency, but here are five players they may potentially sign.

As NFL free agency approaches in 2024, the Detroit Lions find themselves in an unusually advantageous situation. They recently advanced to the NFC Championship Game, are a legitimate Super Bowl contender for next season, and have cap space in the top ten of the league.

So money won’t stop the Lions from doing what they want in free agency. Re-signing some of their own free agents (Jonah Jackson, Graham Glasgow, Josh Reynolds, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson) is a stated goal, although some additions from outside the team are also planned.

It would be exciting to see the Lions make significant moves to fill their top two needs (cornerback and edge rusher). But it also feels.unlikely. Maybe one or the other, but not both. And perhaps neither, when it comes to bringing in a big name for a big contract.

Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell place an equal weight on intangible fit as they do on talent.

In his season-ending press conference, Holmes stated that skill is a fundamental evaluation idea. and not always a great differentiator (he’s correct). Holmes stated that “everyone can’t play for the Detroit Lions.”

So let’s look past any big money splashes and toward more “realistic” free agent objectives. Who may the Lions acquire in free agency next month?
