Nottingham Forest’s 2024/25 season has gotten off to an excellent start, with five points already on the board.

As the international break continues, Nuno Espirito Santo has been given the opportunity to reflect on the first three league games.

This follows a busy transfer market in which numerous players have come and gone from the City Ground in recent months.

However, there are still certain windows that did not close last Friday like they did in England, with transactions still ongoing.

And one has recently been confirmed elsewhere, with Forest finally parting ties with Steve Cooper, who signed in 2022.

Nottingham Forest have finally sold Steve Cooper signing

Ui-jo Hwang, a South Korean attacker, was among the several players signed by the club during Cooper’s tenure.

It’s fair to say Hwang hasn’t had the ideal time in England, having failed to play a minute for the Reds.

Since arriving at the City Ground, the £4 million Hwang has been loaned out on four separate occasions throughout Europe.

However, on Friday, it was revealed that Hwang had finally left Forest on a permanent basis to join with Turkish club Alanyaspor.

The 32-year-old spent the latter part of last season in Turkey, where he scored and assisted in eight games.

Hwang also spent time in the Championship with Norwich City last season, scoring three goals in 17 games.

However, after failing to play a single minute for the Reds, his stint at the City Ground has come to an end.

Forest could have benefitted from another striker signing this summer

Chris Wood has had a promising start to the season, scoring twice in his first three league outings.

The New Zealand striker felt he had scored his third goal of the season and the winner against Wolves over the weekend, but it was ruled offside.

After scoring 15 the previous season, he, Nuno, and the supporters could not have asked for a better start to the season.

However, if none of their striker targets are signed, Wood’s ability to stay fit this season will be crucial.

Santiago Gimenez rejected the possibility of joining Forest and Eddie Nketiah made the move to Crystal Palace in the end.

An awful lot is resting on the shoulders of Wood this season.
