The Green Bay Packers defeated Detroit on Thanksgiving, but the team hasn’t dropped its last two games in 2023.

Here are the four Lions’ secrets to triumph in New Orleans, without further ado.

Clean up things offensively

Over the past two weeks, the Lions have coughed up the football far too frequently.In the team’s last two games, Jared Goff has turned the ball over six times in total, making seven times overall. Being that careless with the football isn’t going to help Detroit win many games, and it cost Dan Campbell’s team dearly against Green Bay on Thanksgiving.

Before facing New Orleans on Sunday, it will have to do a much better job of saving the football. The shrewd Saints defense will benefit greatly if the Lions continue to play with the same level of recklessness as they have lately. In fact, through 11 games, New Orleans has produced 20 takeaways. As of this writing, that ranks as the third-best mark in the league.

This emphasizes how crucial it is that Goff and the Detroit offense play much cleaner football on Sunday when they take on the Saints.

Get home against Derek Carr and force a turnover

Detroit has had trouble forcing errors and getting to the passer over the entire 2023 season. Actually, the Lions have only come up with 12 takeaways thus far. With this accomplishment, the NFL’s sixth-lowest turnover total is tied.

Last week, Detroit struggled to produce much of a pass rush and was unable to force a single interception against Jordan Love and the Packers. In 11 games this season, Hill has carried the ball 57 times for 287 yards, averaging 5.0 yards per carry, and three touchdowns. He has also caught 24 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown, which is a career-high.

Glenn described Hill earlier this week as a guy who is tough, competitive, and speedier than what some people realize. “He’s a thicker-framed athlete who has found a place in this league where he can thrive, so his build is different than what some people think. However, it’s difficult to defend him because you never know where he’s going to line up for a sustained period of time. As a result, you have to continually be on the ball and know which defense to play based on his position. We also need to stay aware of that.

In the meanwhile, Kamara has amassed 457 yards and two touchdowns through the air in addition to 355 yards and one touchdown in the receiving game. He hasn’t been quite as dynamic as he was in previous seasons, though. The five-time Pro Bowl player has a career-low 6.6 yards per reception and an average of only 3.8 yards per rush attempt.

Campbell & Co. will have a far better chance of winning Week 13 if the Lions can manage to restrict the output of both Kamara and Hill.
