£30m star wanted by Nottingham Forest now set for huge transfer

Nottingham Forest signed Ibrahim Sangare in the summer, and one player they targeted prior to that trade could potentially be in line for a huge move.

The Reds have identified the defensive midfielder as one of their key summer transfer targets.

He was at the top of the club’s shortlist, but they had to wait until Brennan Johnson was sold to Tottenham before closing the transaction.

Other, less expensive targets were identified, including Leicester standout Wilfried Ndidi.

Another player that Forest considered from outside may now be on his way to one of Europe’s best clubs.

Nottingham Forest-linked Youssouf Fofana wanted by AC Milan

This is one to keep an eye on, as the midfielder who was connected with Forest before signing Sangare is due to leave Monaco.

Youssouf Fofana was on the shortlist, and Forest is believed to have made an offer for the midfielder.

Monaco, on the other hand, remained solid in their decision to maintain their player for at least another season.

According to Sempre Milan, the San Siro giants appear to be in prime position to sign the player.

Fofana has had a good season with the Ligue 1 club, scoring four goals and providing four assists.

Monaco, on the other hand, is in a bit of a pickle because Fofana’s contract will expire next summer.

With that in mind, it is believed that they will now consider offers over £25 million this summer.

Sangare could come good at Forest next season

The £30 million signing from PSV hasn’t had a fantastic season, but he should not be written off just yet.

Sangare joined the team after the season had begun, putting him behind schedule in terms of preparation.

Despite having had played some matches for PSV, they were unable to adequately prepare him for the demands of the Premier League.

Forest can still see the best in Sangare, and he is not the first player to take his time adjusting to life in the Premier League.

Pre-season could be crucial for the Ivorian this summer, and Forest will hopefully not live to regret not signing Milan-bound Fofana instead.
