3 ways to Victory in Browns vs Cardinals

It’s game day in Cleveland! The Cleveland Browns will take on the struggling Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Browns are heavy favorites in today’s matchup and on paper, it certainly looks like they should dominate the Arizona Cardinals.

With the way that the AFC North and the AFC as a whole are taking shape, this game has quickly turned into a must-win for Cleveland. While I do not expect them to have their hands full to get a victory, I think that they have to look good for Browns fans to feel good coming away from this one.

The Browns opened the week as -5.5 point favorites. As of three hours before kickoff, that spread has ballooned to -12.5 points, one of the biggest spreads in all of the NFL this year. Here are three keys that the Browns must execute in order to come away with a victory and feel good going into next week.

1. GET DESHAUN GOING

It has been nearly a month and a half since Deshaun Watson has played a full game under center for the Browns. He will look a little bit rusty to start. Kevin Stefanski needs to have a quarterback-friendly game plan to keep him from taking hits, finding easy completions, and getting his feet back underneath of him.

2. STOP THE RUN

Over the past three games, the Browns defense is giving up an average of 130 yards per game on the ground. Anthony Walker had some choice words earlier this week used to describe the recent run defense. Look for the Browns to try and really suffocate the Cardinals’ offense.

3. NO TURNOVERS!

Cleveland leads the NFL in turning the football over with 17 giveaways. They have yet to play a clean game from a turnover standpoint and today would be a great day to start a new streak. No turnovers for Cleveland today!

If the Browns can do these three things they will not only win, but they will have a chance to cover the spread and have Browns fans everywhere feeling very good about them going into a huge stretch of games.
