3 Lions have been ruled out of the game against the Vikings

Three players are out, and three more are questionable on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions have ruled out three players for their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams, linebacker James Houston, and tight end Brock Wright are all out for the regular season finale in Week 18. C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Alim McNeill, and Benito Jones have all been deemed ineligible.

Houston is in his first full week of examination. He returned to practice last week after being out with an injury since Week 2.

Coach Dan Campbell stated ahead of the Lions’ regular-season finale against the Vikings that Houston has not demonstrated that he is fit enough to contribute.

“No. As in, right now? No. But, as I already stated, he is better than he was last week. So, next week, we’ll see where he goes,” Campbell explained. “None of this surprises me, based on what I’ve just seen.” I was expecting what I saw. That’s just how it goes when it’s been a while and you’re coming off an injury like the one he’s coming off of. It’ll take some time to feel good about it. Then, okay, now I’m feeling fine about it. How do I win and produce now that I’m feeling good about it? It’s one thing to say, “OK, I’ll go out there and run around.” But if you can’t produce, neither he nor us will benefit.”

Meanwhile, a virus has spread throughout the Lions’ locker room. In addition to his ankle issue, Williams was listed on the injury report with a sickness. In addition, Jones is unwell.
