3 ex Alabama star players are going to NFL Pro Bowl Games

Two former Alabama players, Isaiah Buggs and Cameron Latu, will participate in the Super Bowl; three more Crimson Tide players, under Nick Saban, will play in the NFL Pro Bowl Games.

Orlando, Florida will host the event from Thursday, February 1 to Sunday, February 4.

The new players on the roster are Ryan Kelly, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Jalen Hurts.

Hurts, a quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles, takes Brock Purdy’s spot in the Super Bowl as he plays for the San Francisco 49ers. In 2016, Hurts became the first true freshman quarterback for Alabama to start under head coach Nick Saban. He helped the Crimson Tide win a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2017 in addition to two Southeastern Conference Championships in 2016 and 2018.

Kelly is an Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman that plans to attend the Pro Bowl Games.

In 2023, he led the Colts to a 9-8 campaign that came dangerously close to an AFC playoff berth.

Kelly gave Gardner Minshew a shield so he could accumulate 3,305 passing yards. From 2011 to 2015, he played center for Alabama and helped the team win three national titles, including back-to-back BCS titles in 2011 and 2012. In 2015, Kelly became a Consensus All-American, won the Rimington Trophy, the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, and was named to the first team of the SEC.

In 2015, he helped Derrick Henry win the Heisman Memorial Trophy.

The Detroit Lions’ running back, Greg Gibbs, is selected to his first Pro Bowl.He totaled 1,443 scrimmage yards and 1,044 rushing yards at the end of his rookie campaign. In the postseason, Gibbs pushed the Lions and led them on a remarkable run to the NFC Championship Game. He is a finalist for Offensive Rookie of the Year and was named to the Professional Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. During his one-year (2022) career at Alabama, Gibbs amassed 926 rushing yards, 444 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.

Hurts, Kelly, and Gibbs will do a fantastic job representing Alabama in the Pro Bowl.
