On July 5, 2022, legendary guitarist Carlos Santana collapsed on stage during a performance at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. Approximately 40 minutes into his set, Santana was seen waving to the audience before suddenly falling to the floor. Medical personnel promptly attended to him, and he was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for observation.

The incident was attributed to heat exhaustion and dehydration. Santana’s management released a statement confirming that he was “over-taken by heat exhaustion and dehydration” and was “doing well” after the incident. As a precautionary measure, several of his subsequent performances were postponed to allow for a full recovery.

Despite this health scare, Santana demonstrated resilience and a commitment to his fans. In February 2023, it was announced that he would return to the Pine Knob Music Theatre for a concert, marking a year since the onstage collapse. This performance was part of his continued efforts to connect with audiences and share his music, underscoring his dedication to his craft and supporters.
