Evangelos Marinakis has extended an offer to Edu to take on a role under his multi-club umbrella, and it appears that he already has a plan.
Edu said recently that he would be departing Arsenal after a good spell at the club.
Evangelos Marinakis has already had his eye on Edu and has even made him an offer to take on a job similar to what Michael Edwards performs for Liverpool owners FSG.
Of course, there is no guarantee that Edu will focus entirely on Nottingham Forest, as he may wind up attempting to establish new ties rather than working on those that already exist.
However, having established himself as one of the finest club managers in the Premier League, his knowledge would undoubtedly assist the Reds reach the next level and open the door to other opportunities if that is the role he accepts.
Interestingly, despite the fact that no deal has been announced between Marinakis and Edu, it appears that a plan has already been put in place.
Edu tasked with negotiations over Evangelos Marinakis taking over a Brazilian club
Evangelos Marinakis has been said to be trying to add a few more teams to his present model, with Vasco de Gama among those named.
Edu is Brazilian and made some very good contacts while at Arsenal, which helped the Gunners recruit players like Gabriel Martinelli and Marquinhos.
Marinakis appears to have highlighted Edu’s strength in that region of the world, since there is already a plan in place if Edu signs on the dotted line.
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, Edu Gaspar will handle negotiations for Marinakis when it comes to acquiring Vasco de Gama and potentially another team.
“What I can tell you is that Marinakis, through intermediaries, has already reached Vasco, the information that he intends to talk and open negotiations for the purchase of the club,” according to him.
“Edu Gaspar, the person who will handle this type of negotiation at the moment, is in Saudi Arabia.” So this negotiation should continue for the next few days.
“Also, Evangelos Marinakis and his son were in the middle of the year in Rio de Janeiro, representing and accompanying Olympiacos’ sub-20 team, which lost the Club World Cup final to Flamengo.
“And both departed Rio de Janeiro thrilled with the city, the people, and the football spirit that abounds there, which only adds to the pretension of having a football team in Brazil and, more specifically, in Rio de Janeiro. I repeat: Edu Gaspar will handle these negotiations.
“And while still working for Arsenal last season, Edu mapped eight Brazilian clubs.” He had the opportunity and the idea to build a partnership between Arsenal and the Brazilian club. This proposal did not advance due to the decision of Arsenal’s managers.
“I’d like to inform you that Marinakis is in negotiations with another Brazilian Championship Serie A squad. Marinakis doesn’t just talk to Vasco.

What other clubs is Evangelos Marinakis looking at buying?
Graeme Bailey claims that Evangelos Marinakis is trying to add at least three new teams to his portfolio in various locations.
He claims there will be three teams: South American, Asian, and European.
“Marinakis is forming this gang, and it appears that Edu will lead it.
“Blueco Chelsea is similar to the Red Bulls and the City group, but less so. It will be expanding, with a European team, a South American club, and an Asian team joining, therefore it will not have an affect on Forest.
“They obviously believe they’ll benefit from it in the long term.”
