The Head Coach noted that the 22-year-old’s attention to detail is evident in everything he does.

From the lectures to the walk-throughs to practice to the weight room, everything must be held to a higher standard. Over the last two weeks, he’s made significant progress toward becoming a pro’s pro. What Head Coach Shane stated about the 6-foot-4 quarterback is self-explanatory. It’s more than just increasing his on-field or practice performance.

“Is this the finished product? No, but we have a lot of faith that he will be our franchise quarterback because of his ability and who he is,” the Colts’ head coach added. HC Shane Steichen replaced Anthony Richardson as quarterback after a 16-day absence, altering direction for the 2023 No. 4 pick. And guess what? Richardson is back in the building!

Richardson himself admitted, “It just demonstrated my willingness to be a professional.” “I’m willing to do anything for the team.” Despite being replaced as the starting quarterback by Joe Flacco, he was unable to meet HC’s expectations; the Colts had lost to the Bills and Vikings in the last two weeks. Meanwhile, No. 5 jersey said he is “thankful” to the franchise for trusting in him. But now that Steichen has identified the quarterback’s key weaknesses, perhaps there is hope for the franchise.

But, dude, you better watch your mouth when you’re speaking from the NFL podium! Richardson’s career will undoubtedly benefit from the minor details mentioned by the HC. However, it is encouraging to see that he is “willing to sacrifice anything”.

The 244-pound quarterback will start the game against the Jets on November 17. The Colts will need to play seven games, including this one, to make or miss the playoffs this season. With a 4-6 record, the Indianapolis Colts are second in the AFC South division at the end of week 10.

If you look at the stats of the jersey No. 5, his starting record is 3-3. With a horrible completion percentage (CMP%) of 44.4%, he has managed 4 touchdowns covering 958 passing yards. Even if Steichen states Richardson’s growth as “big-time strides,” his QBR rating stops at 37.6. Comparatively, the competitors in the AFC South have their QB performing decently in CMP% (the Texans QB- 62.9%, the Titans QB 68.2%, and the Jaguars QB- 61.3 %).

As the HC himself believed in jersey No. 5, the QB’s performance and time will tell if stands out or not. These ‘big-time strides’ should be in the right direction for the QB to perform with all his emotions and mindfulness and not say unnecessary things. Hope he has recovered from the ‘tiredness’.
