£20 million+ valuation established as Ipswich Town ace attracts more transfer interest

Nottingham Forest are interested in Ipswich Town’s Leif Davis, although he is expected to cost more than £20 million, according to a report from TWTD.

Davis has been one of Ipswich Town’s most prominent players since joining from Leeds United in the summer of 2022. After impressing in League One, he has thrived in the transition to Championship football.

The 24-year-old has been a regular at left-back, with 14 assists in 32 games across all competitions. He’s been regarded as one of the division’s best full-backs, and other clubs have recently taken notice.

According to TalkSPORT, Newcastle United and West Ham are interested in signing the dynamic left-back. Another admirer has emerged.

TWTD reports that Nottingham Forest has also expressed interest in Ipswich Town’s star player.

Furthermore, according to their source, the Tractor Boys are likely to value the former Leeds United player at more than £20 million. His current contract expires in the summer of 2025, but he can exercise a 12-month extension option.

Holding onto Davis

Of course, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle United, West Ham, or Nottingham Forest will pursue their interest this summer. However, regardless of the outcome of Ipswich Town’s promotion campaign, the club will want to keep Davis.

His value to Kieran McKenna’s team is vital, and losing him would create a significant void in the squad to replace. You have to feel that promotion to the top tier would boost their chances of retaining him, with teams perhaps ready to offer him a step up if Town fall short.

Nonetheless, a price tag of more than £20 million reveals that Ipswich would not let Davis go cheaply. It’s a high asking price, but considering his contract position and importance to the team, the Portman Road club is well within their rights to place a high value on the left-back despite interest from elsewhere.
