Liverpool and Nottingham Forest’s team news prior of the Premier League game.

Liverpool hope to pick up where they left off when the Premier League season resumes against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (15.00 BST).

Life under Arne Slot couldn’t have started any better. The transition from Jurgen Klopp’s famous reign has gone as smoothly as anyone could have imagined. In fact, initial expectations have been exceeded.

The Reds have won their first three games, most notably defeating bitter rivals Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford. However, Slot understands that this is only the beginning and warned following the United victory that things will become more difficult when Liverpool begins their Champions League campaign and Carabao Cup defence.

Meanwhile, Forest has had a decent start on their own, with five points and an unblemished record. Ahead of the game, here’s an early look at each teams’ injury reports.

Liverpool injury news

Harvey Elliott – out

The attacking midfielder returned to Anfield from England U-21 for ‘additional medical checks’. Elliott has a fractured foot and will be sidelined for six weeks.

Curtis Jones – potential return

He missed the last two games due to an unidentified ailment. Jones, on the other hand, has returned to training and will most likely be a bench player.

Federico Chiesa – potential involvement

Arrived from Juventus for £12.5 million the day before the summer transfer window closed. Chiesa was left out of the matchday squad versus United due to a lack of match fitness. But he’s been working on his sharpness during the international break and will be looking to make his way into Slot’s lineup.

Alexis Mac Allister – expected to feature

An adductor injury caused some problems during Argentina duty. However, he scored in a 3-0 victory over Chile and came on as a substitute in a 2-1 loss to Colombia. Slot will have to decide whether Mac Allister is fit enough to start.

Forest injury news

Danilo – out

The midfielder shattered his ankle in a 1-1 tie with Bournemouth on the season’s first day. It means he’ll be on the treatment table for quite some time.

Willy Boly – doubt

He suffered a calf injury after being called up by the Ivory Coast. He returned to Forest for further evaluation, and the club will now have to decide whether the defender can participate.
