£100 million pair back in training, Crystal Palace receives a major boost ahead of Burnley

In preparation for the match this weekend, Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze resumed first team training on Monday.

The return of key players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze to first team practice ahead of Crystal Palace’s match against Burnley this weekend has given manager Roy Hodgson more optimism.

Olise, one of the league’s top players the previous season, inked a new contract that made him one of the club’s greatest earners, but he hasn’t played this weekend due to a recurrence in his hamstring injury recovery.

Eze hasn’t played since the victory over Manchester United, but it’s evident that when they’re healthy and playing, they are the team’s top players.

The Eagles, who have been struggling lately, played well on Friday night at Selhurst Park against league leaders Tottenham, but they fell 2-1 in the end without their key players.

When he came over as manager last season, veteran Hodgson got the greatest performance out of them. He lamented his team’s lack of veteran leadership in the loss to Spurs, saying his changes made them weaker.

“Maybe the young substitutes, who we like to think we can believe in and would help us to a different level, didn’t show that,” he told reporters following the match against Tottenham. Really, they did nothing at all to assist us. I made the substitutions, and we were much weaker after that.

Now that he has the ability to work with players who have shown success in the Premier League, he will be overjoyed to help the Eagles resume winning games and moving up the standings.
